The IUVSTA Prize for Science (2019) is awarded to Professor David Phillip Woodruff, University of Warwick, UK, for outstanding contributions to deepening our understanding of the structure of surfaces through the development and application of broadly applicable tools now widely available to the surface science community.

The IUVSTA Prize for Technology (2019) is awarded to Professor Reshef Tenne, Weizmann Institute, Israel, for the discovery, synthesis, and characterization, of novel closed inorganic nanostructures, and enabling their implementation in tribological and mechanical technologies.
