Dear Members,

Scientific associations are much more than organizers of conferences or training courses. They are communities where relationships are built, where research and industry come together, where ideas circulate, and where expertise grows. At a time when trust in science is being challenged by new developments—from digital transformation and artificial intelligence to the energy transition and emerging technologies—the role of an independent scientific community such as AIV is more important than ever.

The year 2025 was a significant one for AIV. The scientific and educational activities organized throughout the year further strengthened the Association's role as a meeting point for research, academia, and industry. At the same time, we worked to lay the foundations for an important evolution of our organization.

This process reached a major milestone in May 2026 with the approval of our new Statute and AIV's registration in the Italian National Register of Third Sector Organizations (RUNTS). This was not merely an administrative step, but a strategic choice that strengthens our identity, reinforces our organizational structure, and opens up new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and the development of future initiatives.
Building on these foundations, we have embarked on 2026 with renewed commitment. Our goal is to consolidate what has been achieved, expand collaborations with the research, academic, and industrial communities, encourage the active involvement of young researchers and professionals, and continue promoting scientific and technological culture.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our members, volunteers, members of the governing bodies, and everyone who contributes their time, expertise, and enthusiasm to the Association. To all of them, I would like to express my sincere gratitude.

We look to the future with the awareness that the major scientific and technological challenges of our time cannot be addressed in isolation. They require collaboration, openness, dialogue, and the ability to bring together diverse expertise. This is the mission that AIV is committed to pursuing: to become an increasingly authoritative, inclusive, and innovation-oriented scientific community, capable of creating value for its members and, more broadly, for the research and industrial ecosystem of our country.

With these thoughts, I wish you an enjoyable reading of this newsletter and encourage you to continue taking an active part in the life of our Association.
