FOUR NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR YOUR LABORATORY

  28/06/2026

Vacuum measurement, ultra-high-vacuum valves, precision fittings, and atomic nanofabrication: the new additions that expand our offering for research and industry.

Anyone working in vacuum technology and scientific instrumentation knows the paradox of this field well: laboratories’ needs grow, budgets shrink, and the gap between those who make instruments and those who use them widens. Finding the right component—with proper technical support and the assurance of a local point of contact—remains one of the least visible yet most concrete challenges in Italian research and industry. We at G. Gambetti Kenologia have been working on this for over forty years. We build plasma systems, distribute top-tier scientific instrumentation, and provide technical assistance throughout the country. From Binasco, just outside Milan, we serve research centers such as IIT, CNR, and FBK, industries like STMicroelectronics and Leonardo, and university laboratories from Trento to Lecce.

High-vacuum pressure measurement requires precision, repeatability, and long-term stability. Conventional instruments degrade, require frequent recalibrations, and introduce artifacts into the system. ph-instruments’ Spinning Rotor Gauge (SRG) technology solves the problem at its root. The principle is elegant in its simplicity: a stainless-steel sphere rotates inside a tube; the change in its rotational frequency, measured without contact by the read head, provides the pressure value. No feedthroughs, no electronics in contact with the vacuum, no heat transfer that would alter the system conditions. The main products are the Dositorr transducer, the portable VIM-2 system, and the ION Check device for verifying ionization gauges. Long-term stability is at the level of transfer standards. For those working in environments where accuracy is not optional but a requirement, this technology marks a point of no return.
