From 21 to 24 October 2025, the 105th IUVSTA Workshop on Characterization of Gas Transport through Materials: Applications to Vacuum Science and Technology was held in Santa Margherita Ligure (Portofino), Italy.
The workshop brought together researchers from a broad range of scientific disciplines with the aim of fostering interdisciplinary exchange and promoting new collaborations. The scientific sessions covered topics including gas transport models in dense and porous materials, applications of vacuum technology, membranes and thin films for gas separation, sensors, packaging, CO? capture and hydrogen storage, as well as the latest techniques and instrumentation for measuring gas transport properties.
The program featured invited lectures by internationally renowned experts, contributed oral presentations, and ample opportunities for scientific discussion. Thanks in part to the limited number of participants and the unique setting of the workshop, the event provided an ideal environment for the exchange of ideas and the development of new collaborative opportunities among attendees.
